| Due to popularity in Pong games of late I checked back with the Plasma Pong website and there's bad new and good news. Quote from the game developers website of Plasma Pong http://www.plasmapong.com Pong is a registered trademark of Atari Interactive Inc. To respect this trademark, Plasma Pong will be down until further notice.
Fear not! The author is working on a new project that will trump Plasma Pong in awesomeness! Stay tuned.
UPDATE 6 - 4 - 08: I'm response to the massive amount of emails I've been getting - I'm not dead and neither is Plasma Pong! The game will make a comeback with a fresh coat of paint, sit tight!
Please direct any email to Steve Taylor - staylor5 (at) gmu (dot) eduSo now we know the story as to why Plasma Pong was taken down and why it's been down for so long, but it should be back in a different form | |

| Well I'm glad I wasn't holding my breath. Over 6 long years with still no action from Steven Taylor. Very disappointing. There's still an available and working version out there for those of us that are interested. It's been ages since I even searched for the game, unsuccessfully. You can still find it around the net here and there at the better gaming sites and I'll just list one that had a valid, clean file, without downloaders and crap. Thanks to Fun-Motion for hosting the game file and allowing Plasma Pong to live on, well done! You can find it here in a no install .zip file download. Now I'm happy and can rest in peace. http://www.fun-motion.com/physics-games/plasma-pong I will not be deleting this game file again from my HDD now that I've been reunited with it, just in case the Atari Police decide to target this one particular Pong clone freeware game again, one of hundreds of Pong clones available to download, just to get their jollies off. Shameful! If anything, clone games, re-makes and fan made games only promote the original game and being decades since the original, this shouldn't have happened in the first place! Atari have definitely been in the top spot for Douche-Bag of the Decade! This black mark is still up against them and will be hard to wear off, If at all. I'm sure that Atari was just jealous that Steven Taylor actually made a much better version of the game and in my book it's still one of the best Pong clones out there to date. Yeah I've said that before, and I've said it again. Long live Plasma Pong! and UP YOUR'S ATARI! | |
