Go Bonsai (3D plant simulation)

Go Bonsai (1.5mb, made by Frank Force 2009, install .exe) is a brilliant little plant simulation. Make small plants look big by trimming it's branches and potting them in a shallow bowl, essentially stunting their growth. You start off with a plant that grows from seed in a shallow plant pot. Your growing time is speeded up considerably to see the plant growing before your eyes through all 4 seasons. You can control the speed and even pause to trim your bonsai or take a screenshot. Trim small branches to medium sized branches to get the effect you're looking for. As with all great bonsai's, they take years to achieve that old, small tree look.


I'm no expert at growing bonsai's, in fact I've never done it. maybe that's why this little freeware game is so interesting. It's simple in design yet you can get so much enjoyment from it watching your virtual bonsai grow. All I can say is download it and give it a try, you may enjoy it.

Frank says... "The player is protected from accidentally cutting the larger branches and destroying their tree. To cut the larger branches use middle click or ctrl+left mouse if you prefer."
